Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and jointly organized by China Tourism Commodity and Equipment Association, Tourism Bureau of Zhejiang Province, the People’s Government of Yiwu City and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., the 10th China International Tourism Commodities Fair (CITCF) came to a successful end at Yiwu International Expo Center on May 28. Celebrating its 10th birthday with the theme of “Smart Travel with Stylish Gadgets”, the fair established A1 Environmental-friendly Toilet Hall, B1 Provincial and Municipal Hall, C1 Thematic Showcasing Hall, D1 Specialty Product in Tourist Destination Hall, and E1 Tourism Equipment Hall. The total display area covered over 50,000 sqm, and set up 2,020 standard booths, which attracted 1,500 companies from 29 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and 34 overseas countries and regions. The four-day fair attracted buyers from more than 80 countries and regions. The total number of participants exceeded 11.5 million, with year-on-year growth of 15%; the total turnover reached RMB 4.018 billion, an increase of 9.99% from the previous year, further building a commodity feast of Asian tourism.
Toilet Revolution: Crucial to Livelihood
Toilet revolution is necessary for tourism development. The toilet achievements pavilion at Hall A1 showcased the major events in toilet revolution of China from 2015 to 2017, as well as the typical cases of toilet revolution for tourism in such provinces and municipalities as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, and Qinghai. It strived to build a display and experience area of new technologies and new achievements for toilet revolution.
The toilet revolution not only indicates the people’s longing for and expectation for a better life, but also is the country’s good vision for the progress of social civilization. For this purpose, CITCF launched 2018 China Toilet Revolution Seminar for the fourth year. Themed on “Construction, Management and Upgrading”, the seminar invited leaders from provincial and municipal tourism administrations, overseas experts and senior executives in the toilet industry to carry out in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as toilet construction, toilet management, and toilet upgrading, and to build an exchange platform to promote the domestic toilet company development and toilet industry innovation.
Tourism Commodities: Integration of Culture and Tourism
With the continuous improvements of public tourism consumption and aesthetic conception, tourism commodities have gradually integrated with cultural innovation, carrying more significance and value of collection. This year’s creative cultural tourism pavilion in Yiwu and the 2018 China Tourism Commodities Competition gathered the country’s top tourism innovative and creative cultural products, so as to show the new concept, new elements and new achievements of the integrated development of culture and tourism.
Smart Tourism to Upgrade Experience
With the overall advancement of global tourism and “Internet+” tourism, management agencies of tourist attraction at all levels across the country have applied big data platform, system integration, and multiple cloud technologies for smart management and operation of tourism attractions, to create smarter and more comfortable travel experiences. In order to demonstrate the innovative achievements of smart tourism construction in the context of global tourism and effectively give play to the advantages of complementary publicity of traditional media and new media, the Smart Tourism Pavilion has integrated the high-tech technologies and research results of over 30 smart tourism service agencies in China.
Overseas companies from 34 countries and regions including Russia, France, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Switzerland, Argentina, Philippines, Australia, Hungary, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Madagascar, and Ethiopia brought the specialty goods and travel services across the world, to display the gorgeous exotic customs.
Through ten years of cultivation and development, the comprehensive competitiveness of China International Tourism Commodities Fair has been fully enhanced, with more outstanding results in exhibition and trade, as well as the increasingly prominent leading role. This has given a strong impetus for the transformation and upgrading of tourism and tourism commodities manufacturing. The next edition will be held in May 2019.
